Information You Need Before Starting
Gather these details before opening the TWAC portal. The form cannot be saved mid-completion, so having everything ready makes it faster.
Personal Details
- Full legal name (exactly as passport)
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Passport number and expiry date

- Occupation and phone number
Travel Details
- Flight number and airline
- Arrival date
- Port of entry (airport or seaport)

Complete Your TWAC in 12 Steps

Go to the Official Portal
Visit twac.immigration.gov.tw. This is the only official, free portal. Third-party sites are unnecessary.

Select Your Language
Choose from English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese or Indonesian.

Click "Submit Arrival Card"
Start a new TWAC submission from the homepage.

Upload Passport Photo (Optional)
You can upload a photo of your passport's data page to auto-fill your personal details. This is optional — you can also enter details manually.

Enter Personal Details
Enter your full legal name exactly as it appears in your passport. No nicknames or shortened versions. Include middle names if they appear in your passport.

Enter Travel Details
Enter your flight number, airline name, arrival date, port of entry, planned departure date and purpose of visit.

Enter Relative's Contact (If Applicable)
If your purpose of visit is "Visiting Relatives", enter the full name and Taiwanese mobile number of your host.

Enter Accommodation Details
Provide the full hotel name and complete street address, or your host's full name, address and phone number.

Enter Visa Details (If Applicable)
If you hold a Taiwan visitor visa, enter the visa number and expiry date. Visa-exempt travelers skip this section.

Add Additional Travelers (If Applicable)
To submit for a group, add each additional traveler's details here. One submission covers up to 16 travelers total.

Review All Information
Check every field carefully. Pay special attention to your name spelling and passport number — character-by-character verification is recommended.

Click Submit. Your QR code is sent to your email address immediately. No waiting period.
After You Submit Your TWAC
Save Your QR Code
Your QR code is sent to the email you provided. Save it to your phone before travel. Screenshot it or download it — do not rely on airport Wi-Fi to access your email.
Edit If Needed
The TWAC is editable anytime before your arrival in Taiwan. Update it if your flight changes, accommodation changes or you notice an error.
At Immigration
Immigration officers scan your passport to automatically retrieve your TWAC data. Show the QR code if the officer requests it. No need to print it.
Important: Some airlines check for a valid TWAC at the boarding gate. If you cannot show your QR code, you may be denied boarding. Always save the QR code offline before heading to the airport.
Submitting for a Group or Family
- One person can complete the TWAC for up to 16 travelers in a single submission
- Each traveler receives their own individual QR code by email
- You will need the following for each traveler: full name (as in passport), passport number and expiry, email address, travel details (same flight usually), purpose of visit
- This is ideal for families and tour groups traveling together on the same flight
Group Submission Tips
- The lead submitter can use their own email for all QR codes, or enter individual emails for each traveler
- Children including infants need their own TWAC entry
- Group members can still edit their own forms after the lead submitter completes the group submission
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Wrong Name Spelling
Your name must match your passport exactly. Even a single different character can cause issues at immigration.
Incorrect Accommodation Address
"Hotel TBA" or vague addresses are not accepted. You must provide a complete, specific address.
Submitting Too Late
Some airlines check TWAC at check-in or boarding. Complete it at least 24 hours before your flight.
Using a Third-Party Site
Only twac.immigration.gov.tw is the official free portal. Third-party sites charge unnecessary fees and are not affiliated with Taiwan's government.
